Are my funds safe on Cables?
The Cables DEX never takes custody of your funds. Yep, you heard that right. Your funds are accessed through non-custodial wallets, meaning that you have control of your keys and therefore, your assets.
We use escrow accounts associated with your wallet that holds the funds for your limit orders, and you can close your orders at any time to keep total control of your funds. The escrow accounts can only execute the transactions based on the parameters that you defined for your order.
Which wallets are supported by Cables?
On Avalance, Cables supports Metamask, Avalanche Core wallet, Coinbase Wallet, and Wallet Connect.
Cables supports a wide variety of wallets through Wallet Connect.
How does a limit order work?
A limit order is an order to buy or sell a pair at a specific price or better. If the order is filled, it will only be at the specified price or better. Limit orders have no guarantee that they will be executed.
How does a market order work?
A market order is an order to buy or sell a pair instantly. This order is guaranteed to be executed, although the execution price will vary slightly near the current bid (for a sell order) or ask (for a buy order) price.
Where did the Cables name come from?
We originally came up with Cables to be a symbolic callout to the origin of global currency exchanges and trading. In 1856, the first transatlantic cable transmitted currency prices between the London and New York City Exchanges. Although this spearheaded a new era of traditional finance, many things have remained the same including midlemen, high trading fees, and relatively slow trading times leaving institutions and individuals at a major disadvantage.
Cables is revolutionizing the way currency exchange is done. Decentralized, lightning-fast, non-custodial, all at the tip of your fingers built on the blockchain that does it best, Avalanche.
